The origins of chocolate are traced back to approximately three millennia ago, in Central America. Naturally, cocoa beans arrived in our country only after a long time but\u2026 Italy has been able to recover every margin well, to the point of becoming one of the countries which, due to the quality of its production, has managed to stand out with particular favor in the sector international.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It seems clear that, in such a rich, fragmented and diversified context, it is very difficult to identify the most famous Italian chocolate shop. That the starting point of this exploration of Italian chocolate is Turin itself should not be surprising: the Piedmontese capital is a true capital of European chocolate, boasting an experience in the sector that few other cities on the old continent can provide. And, therefore, it is not surprising that some of the best-known brands appear precisely in the Turin district, such as Caffaril, Leone 1857, Baratti & Milano, or even Venchi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having abandoned Piedmont, the taster of quality chocolate will however not be disappointed. Among the most famous chocolatiers in Italy we can in fact include some Tuscan productions of extraordinary quality such as those of Monsummano Terme, in the province of Pistoia, where Andrea Slitti is based, one of the most important and established artisan chocolatiers in the world, also famous (but not only) for its unmissable spreadable cream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We therefore go further down, until we encounter the traditions of the ancient Umbrian chocolate-making and the ancient Neapolitan chocolate-making, and thus lead to some delicious variations in Sicily: in Modica, for example, there is the laboratory of Simone Sabaini’s chocolate shop, Sabad\u00ec , whose chocolate is made by cold processing cocoa, in order to obtain an intense flavor with a recognizable crunchiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
