Research, development and quality control

Almar’s nutritionists and researchers are constantly engaged in working out product improvement to meet the ever-changing consumer trends.

Quality

Almar experts have carefully selected valuable ingredients such as Dutch cocoa 22/24 for hot chocolate, Korean Ginseng extract for Italian Ginseng Coffee and freeze-dried fruit for our sorbet and granite mixtures. We achieve the highest product quality by using only natural ingredients and freeze-dried fruit; we never use preservatives, artificial colours and hydrogenated fats. Our products are gluten-free and suitable for all, including celiacs. The production processes, manufacturing, processing, packaging and storage are carried out under the close supervision of Almar staff by applying a quality control system that checks each and every production lot. The entire production process is carried out in adherence with the Italian and European regulations: HACCP self-check system – Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, set by the European Directive 43/93 / EEC and Legislative Decree 155/97 replaced in 2006 by EC Regulation 852 / 2004. Almar control system guarantees full traceability of all components.

Almar Product quality is considered mandatory and is effected through:

Ingredients and raw materials

Almar products are processed from certified top quality raw materials. Purveyors of raw materials have all been carefully selected and their ingredient thoroughly tested. We achieve the highest product quality by using only natural ingredients and freeze-dried fruit; we never use preservatives, artificial colours and hydrogenated fats. Our products are gluten-free and suitable for all, including celiacs.

Packaging

The content is wrapped in heat-sealed aluminum foil laminate (PET / AL / PE) to guarantee full protection from contamination, moisture and light. The special film used for packaging passed the most stringent quality tests carried out in various qualified labs. All packaging material meet the standards set out by:

  • Regulation 1935/04, EC 10/2011, 1282/2011, EC 1183/2012 on materials and articles coming into contact with food
  • EC Regulation 2023/2006 on the manufacture of materials and articles coming into contact with food
  • Regulations of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on materials and articles coming into contact with food
